About This Event

3 Hours

Energy sits at the center of everything we do, from how we move to how we build, heat and connect.
But few of us pause to ask: Where does it all come from? How much do we use? And what would it take to change it?

The Energy Collage is an interactive card-based workshop that helps you make sense of today’s global energy landscape. Working in small teams, participants use visual cards to piece together how energy is produced, converted and consumed, and what challenges lie ahead in moving toward cleaner systems.

Grounded in verifiable facts and systems thinking, this experience avoids opinion or advocacy. Instead, it offers perspective, helping you see the scale, limits and trade-offs that shape real-world decisions about energy.

You don’t need to be an engineer or policy expert. Whether you’re a student, professional, or climate enthusiast, this workshop will give you clarity on how energy connects to climate, economy, and everyday life.

This isn’t a lecture. It’s a lively, group-based learning experience that turns complex ideas into insight and conversation.

What You’ll Explore
  • How our dependence on energy has grown since the industrial revolution
  • The difference between energy and power, and why it matters
  • Where efficiency is lost along the conversion chain
  • How carbon intensity and energy density shape the world’s energy mix
  • The strengths, limitations and trade-offs of different energy sources
